Someone once asked...

“Are flowers truly useless?”

✦

Someone answered with kindness...

No, they have many different functions, other than looking pretty, but it really depends on the type of flower or the plant it comes from.

No, they serve a function to the plant as reproductive structures. Those reproductive structures may serve the rest of the ecosystem either through the continued propagation of the plant, which may be a resource to other organisms in different ways, or directly through some resource made by the flower itself, as is the case with many pollinators, or creatures that make their homes in flowers. Flowers are also of use to humans, particularly as natural, often fragrant decorations. Decorations have been known to lift people's spirits, and may help with overall quality of life. Some flowers are also edible to humans, but are rarely a vital food source. However, all foods rely on flowers. Wheat, rice, potatoes, and all other plants that are eaten by humans or by animals that are then eaten by humans all have flowers. There are some very ancient forms of plants that do not have flowers, such as mosses and ferns, which produce spores instead of pollen and eggs, but they cannot be considered less useless than all of the flowering plants most things rely on.
