“Ahhh, so we have a group of 7 to 8 people and we are friends from school like from 2019 2020 and we have always being there for each other. We go on Dinner, we roam together even today. But when I had a drop year after 12th they were one year ahead of me in college and I was one year junior to them so I went to my class they went to there and eventually I made new friends in my class. But whenever I hangout with those colleges friends, I have been taunted indirectly, questioned about it and everything. But the thing is I am more of me, more opened when i am with college friends even though I met them only year ago. I dont have to pretend for anything and thats the reason I hangout or like to hangout with clg friends rather than old friends group.”

I think sometimes as a person grows, they outgrow friendships as well. You having a gap year meant you got to see what else can I be a new friend group made it easier for you to discover yourself and who you could be. You did not change; you just grew into someone you would eventually become. If you are happier with the friends you made recently, then maybe that's the right group for you. I hope you know that the person you are becoming is wonderful and that you make so many good memories in college.
